You are considered to have a higher education background if you have:
If you have undertaken previous higher education studies with results at a pass level, including any single subjects of study, or have successfully completed a tertiary preparatory course such as FAST, these studies will support your application to study and qualify you for entry into most FedUni undergraduate courses. Refer to Course Finder for course-specific entry information.
Some courses need further information in addition to your formal application. For example, interview, entrance test or audition, etc. You should check if there are any essential requirements for admission for the individual courses you are applying to study.
Some courses will require you to have a Working With Children check / police check, etc. These are not required with your application, but may need to be obtained prior to commencement of your studies.
If you are applying only to Federation University, use a desktop computer and apply via direct application.
If you are applying to more than one institution, apply through the Victorian Tertiary Admissions Centre (VTAC).
VTAC applicants will follow the VTAC offer timelines, with offers distributed by VTAC directly. If you receive a VTAC offer we will send you an offer letter by email, which will contain information on how to accept the offer and enrol.

You are considered to have a recent secondary education background if you:
Current Year 12 students, and applicants who have completed Year 12 within the previous two years (and have not since undertaken higher education or VET studies), must meet Year 12 prerequisite entry requirements.
Eligible applicants will be ranked for admission based on their ATAR and ATAR Adjustment Factors – eg Special Entry Access Scheme (SEAS) and Subject Adjustments. Applicants will be selected in order of ranking and the number of offers made to applicants will be based on course-specific quotas. A minimum ATAR of 70 applies to all Initial Teacher Education degrees.
Guaranteed ATARs apply to some of our undergraduate courses. If you receive an ATAR equal to or above this number, meet the course prerequisites and any 'Essential Requirements for Admission', we will guarantee you a place in this course. View our guaranteed ATARs.
